Module content | Students are introduced to the area of data and information analytics and management through mining structured and unstructured data, gaining insights and knowledge from data using generative AI techniques, and using novel methods to collect and use personal and public web postings via a set of case studies of big data analytics. Students who successfully complete COS 715 will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of commonly used algorithms for NLP problems such as information extraction, machine translation, text summarisation, and question answering. Students will also learn the key concepts, tools, and approaches for dealing with textual data, as well as the underlying algorithmic and linguistic foundations for NLP techniques. |
